Saul + prison tattoo (TW noncon body modification)

Saul comes to Ben Harvey after everything has calmed down to ask for help getting rid of the tattoo the prison placed on him so that Farah and/or Andreas don't see it. Bonus points if it's in a humiliating spot.

Riven didn’t know if the choking sensation he couldn’t seem to shake off was due to some deep, inexplicable bond between them or just fear jamming his throat.

It was getting worse, these last few weeks smothering the beat of life until it felt like they were crawling towards an unreachable shore under incessant waves.

Sky had woken up from a nightmare a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t a first nor unusual — hearing him gasp for breath, seeing him claw at his throat — but it had felt different and Riven had been at his side before he could open his eyes, faster than ever. He had taken his hands away from his neck and had talked Sky through breathing exercises, had gone to open the window and let fresh air come in when he had calmed down enough to breathe on his own.

He had wanted to reassure him, tell him he was in Alfea, he was safe. But he had been in Alfea, and he hadn't been safe.

Instead, he only said, “You’re okay.”

And then, had lingered in Sky’s side of the room — watching his figure sitting on the bed, chest moving steadily and head hanging low — until he had felt ridiculous enough to force himself to go away and back to sleep.

But Sky had grasped his wrist, looked at him with the colour of his eyes distressingly muddled and pulled on his arm with the lightest of tugs.

That had been the day he started sleeping in Sky’s bed.

This way he didn’t have to jump from his bed when he heard Sky jolting awake and he could sleep better himself, seeing blond hair immediately after dreaming of that gaping void behind his lungs where Sky’s death had hit him.

It was easier at night, when it was just the two of them, but they had been keeping it under control during the day, too, when they had to keep going on with their lives.

Sky only ever sparred with him since he had been put on a chokehold and Riven had had to rush across the platforms to help him breathe. Silva had let them stick together so far but he didn’t know if that favour would go on indefinitely, even if it was for Sky.

And sometimes, Riven felt like a damn shadow, following Sky around and keeping his eyes on him when he was too far; but the anxiety of Sky silently choking somewhere out there, alone, of going back to the dorm and finding him limp and cold like he once had been, was enough to make his hands shake uncontrollably.

Even Silva looked at him with clouded eyes and a trembling frown. And Riven wished he could have some of that steeled mind of his, he wished he could forge a soldier armour to put on and control this senseless part of him that was ruled by fear.

But one look at Sky and the pain in his chest overwhelmed anything he could ever try to fight. One of his hands holding onto the edge of his sleeve and he couldn’t think of any other place he was supposed to be but at his side.

When the days were especially bad, they went outside when night fell.

Riven paid the specialist on patrol with some joints or a glare, depending on who it was, and they walked around the grounds to a hidden spot from where they could see the stars between the trees.

The air was colder than inside, and the breeze refreshed their surroundings constantly. Sky seemed to breathe better there. Riven never smoked around him, anymore, so he played with the grass under him to keep his hands occupied while Sky took deep, slow breaths.

When conversation turned into silence for a moment too long, Riven grew nervous listening to the sounds of the forest. Uneasiness crawling up his spine, he exchanged the blades of grass for a blade of metal and his eyes scanned the darkness between the tree trunks.

Sky bumped their shoulders when he was ready to go and his hand engulfed his on their way back to the dorm, as if he were the one who needed support.

Riven wanted to laugh.

What he needed was probably to quit the specialist path if he didn’t get his shit together soon.

Being a soldier couldn’t be this. But he guessed he had never been a good solider.

He checked the marks on Sky’s neck every night, even if they had faded completely and it had been weeks since he had needed to apply salve on them.

It calmed him, though. Tilting Sky’s head up and seeing his neck unharmed, all pale, uniform skin. Feeling strong muscles under his hands, healed to protect the air traveling to his lungs, keeping him alive.

Sky let him, as long as he wanted, but he had started to restrict himself on that, hoping to go to sleep one day without needing it.

When his fingers started to retreat, though, Sky clasped his wrists in his own hands and guided him back to his neck. He positioned each finger and tightened the pressure until Riven could feel the tendons digging into his palms.

He jerked away as if he had touched the centre of a flame.

“Sky,” he croaked through the sudden dread, alarm tainting his voice.

Sky only rubbed the feeling off his neck and looked at him. Breathing slowly, he took hold of his wrists again.

“I want to try,” he said quietly, but all firm words. Cuffing Riven’s hands back around his throat. “I need to get over it, Riv.”

Riven’s eyes fixated on the image of his fingers curling over the shape of his neck. His chest hurt.

He breathed in deeply.

“You think... this would help?” His thumb drew a crescent moon over his Adam’s apple.

Sky tapped his forearms and smiled.

“It’s you,” he said simply, as if that made everything obvious.

Riven’s fingers trembled, and he swallowed heavily. Closing his eyes and trying to arrange his mind into a good mindset for what Sky was asking of him, he let his fingers brush the hair at his nape and focused on the feeling of soft skin to calm his wild heart.

He looked at Sky’s clear eyes and repositioned himself closer, for an easier grip.

He nodded.

Sky did, too.

He squeezed.

Sky tensed.

His grasp turned hesitant, but Sky held him in place.

A blue gaze telling him not to back down, asking for help, trusting him.

Riven tightened his grip, felt the muscles move under his hands, felt his trachea spam and gasp for air. His eyes watched every twitch of Sky’s face, hyper-aware of even the smallest of signs that he needed to stop. His eyes had closed and Riven wonder if he was remembering or maybe he was reassociating the feeling.

There was a light tug on his wrists and he let go immediately.

Sky gulped air desperately and held onto his arms, chest heaving.

Riven threaded his fingers through the blonde hair behind his ear, feeling him calm down.

“Okay?”

Sky’s hand roamed down his arm to rest on the back of his and looked at him with a stare that seemed to burn.

“Again,” he said, and Riven’s breath hitched.

He allowed them both to respire freely for a minute, warming the sides of Sky’s neck and feeling a bit absurd for not taking his hands off, but Sky didn’t seem to mind. He strained the muscles and tilted it from palm to palm, and Riven rewarded his efforts drawing shapes over his nape.

He rearranged his hands and pressed when he felt him inhale deeply.

Sky stayed as calm as the first time, look as firmly on him, until his eyes screwed shut and his chest started seizing. He clawed franticly at Riven’s forearms, making his hands jump away.

Taking hold of Sky’s face, instead, he brought them closer until their heads bumped and tried to ground him.

“It’s okay,” he whispered, tapping his thumbs in a rhythm Sky could follow to breathe. “You’re okay. It’s me.”

Panting, Sky looked into his eyes and nodded against his forehead.

Riven breathed with him.

The cold air flowing in through their open window felt like a lifeline, no light but the pale moon reflection to disturb the space they knew well enough to feel somewhat safe.

His rings glinted in the dark and he realised with a grimace that he hadn’t taken them off, and that Sky hadn’t said anything, either.

He was thinking about leaving them on the bedside table, to be safer, when Sky guided his hands back to their place.

And they tried again.

And again.

Riven wasn’t sure when exactly he stopped feeling fear.

Maybe when Sky never did anything to stop him, maybe when his eyes never wavered away from that scorching determination he had settled on that night. Maybe when he realised the sensation of Sky gasping for breath felt delicious under his fingers, the rush of air he could almost touch assuring him he was very much alive and with him.

He knew when it turned into something else altogether, though.

With Sky gulping breaths an inch away from him, the feeling of his lips an accidental ghost against his.

Riven stilled, trying to vanish the feeling before it could get in the way of his help, but Sky looked at him from under golden eyelashes and that fire in his eyes turned molten.

Gaze dropping to his lips, he pushed against his hands, slowly, until their lips touched.

Riven cursed himself when he melted on his mouth, but his mind swept any more thoughts away when Sky’s hand climbed up his shoulder and reached for his hair, a whimper that had very little of pain in it escaping him.

His hands squeezed with the tension of his body and Sky fell heavier into him, gasping around his tongue.

Fuck.

Riven’s brain was spiralling into a mess, the edges of everything blurring with the speed, but his body was anchored in place.

Sky seemed to have much less doubts than him, surging over him and pushing him until half of his back touched the bed in an uncomfortable position. His hands dropped to the duvet to lift himself higher up the bed, but Sky wrapped his arms around him and hauled him himself.

Taking the hint, Riven left one hand pressed against his neck, and allowed the other to explore the skin beyond his collar. Up his shoulder and down his back, he ran his fingers through his hair like he had been refraining from doing during the last hour.

Thumb under his jaw and tongue inside his mouth, he dragged his nails down his chest, over one nipple and along the curve of his waist where he knew he was sensitive. He didn’t need to sneak under his shirt because Sky took it off and threw it away in the blink of an eye, before falling against him.

His weight pressed him down on the mattress, helping Riven to breathe in the same way he did for him.

Their lips touched as their hips did, and feeling Sky hard against him sent a rush of heat through his whole body. The hand on his throat tightened and Sky whined. He moved his mouth down his chin and to the skin between the fingers of his hand, and he turned those whines into moans.

Sky’s hips bucked, overwhelming heat seeping through the soft cotton of their pants.

Large hands were under his shirt, spanning his chest from breastbone to side and fingers were doing races down his abdomen. Lips found the side of his neck and kissed a path up his ear, teeth tugging on the lobe and biting on their way down. Hips grinded against his, long and slow.

Something combusted inside him, his veins catching fire.

Riven rolled them to press Sky against the bed and let part of his weight rest on the hand around his neck, feeling his muscles move with a gasp.

Taking his shirt off, he straddled Sky’s lap, knees digging at his sides.

He caressed his jaw and ran his thumb over his lips, an indulgent detour before returning to his place around his neck, but Sky let his mouth fall open and dipped his chin to catch the digit. And, for the first time that night, he saw Sky address the rings on his hands.

Sucking on his thumb, taking it deep enough to reach his ring and catch it between his teeth, rolling it with his tongue.

“Fuck.”

Sky grinned, letting go of the finger with a lap, like this was something he had dreamed about and he hadn’t asked his best friend to force trauma on him an hour ago. He moved with the conviction of someone who wanted to devour him, though, and Riven wanted to do anything to keep the smile reaching his eyes, so rare these days.

With his heart soaring under his ribs, he pounced to his lips and kissed him until his skin tingled and his could take his taste away with him.

He would give him a new memory to wrap around his neck.

His hand shifted its hold to hover above his carotid instead of directly his trachea.

He knew Sky could objectively overpower him and throw him off him, he was bigger and Riven wouldn’t oppose any resistance, but he wanted to give him a clear and simple action to remember in spoken words, in case panic overtook his mind.

Especially now that Riven wasn’t going to be able to focus completely on his reactions.

“Tap my arm if you want me to stop, okay?” he shook the arm in his grasp. “Any time.”

He looked at Sky intently until he could see him nod firmly and still smile up at him. Riven wasn’t new to this, he took care of the position of his hold and adjusted his points of pressure for him.

Resting his weight on top of him, their chests pressed together, hot skin electrifying, hard nipples scraping with every grind of his hips.

Sky’s eyes rolled back, his mouth fell open, but his hands still trembled around his forearm.

“Focus on me,” Riven murmured, mouthing his cheek, running his fingers through his hair. “Only me, Sky.”

He kissed his jaw, the corner of his mouth and then the other, until Sky opened his eyes and turned his head to have him in his field of vision. Blue held onto him as if he were the only buoy in his ocean.

His hand eased up, Sky’s pants beside his ear.

Riven clashed their mouth together and entangled their tongues and rolled their lips, trying to vanish any memory that Sky’s mind refused to let die. His other hand carved faint red rivers down his chest, the ripples of his abdomen and the bone of his hip, hooking his fingers in the waistband of his pants and taking him out.

He squeezed his throat at the same time he did his cock.

Sky jerked under him, arching his back, and his moans injected streams of pleasure into his veins. Adrenaline curled around his bones.

He knew exactly what Sky was feeling. The sensation of blood not reaching where it should, his head being free to float and climb up and up through a delightful high far away from reality that amplified the sensitivity of every cell in his body.

A darker room before his eyes, a warmer body moving against his, a louder breath penetrating his mind, a rougher hand choking him, colder rings pumping him, the most powerful wave riding his nerves.

His fingers loosened, twitching with the excitement of the blood rush slamming back into Sky.

“That—”

“I know,” Riven hushed him gently.

Long fingers fumbled with the waist of his pants and shoved them down, a hand on the small of his back crushing his body down and ragged breaths against his neck. Sky wrapped an arm around his waist and rolled his hips. His cock dragged along his own, heads bumping.

Riven heaved a breath amidst a moan.

“More,” Sky mumbled under his jaw, voice wavering as if drunk. “More.”

A shiver made Riven’s muscles spam, hips bucking and hand squeezing.

Sky wrapped his palm around both of them, his larger hand easily managing their lengths together, spreading wetness and rubbing them until he clenched his fingers against the sides of his throat and his arm fell limp to the bed.

Riven rocked his hips, long and with intention, heat swirling around his middle and crawling up his navel. Each sway carrying kisses over Sky’s collarbone, licks down his breastbone, bites around his nipples.

He slackened his grip.

Sky gulped air to compensate oxygen, his hands surging up to hold him closer.

Riven grinded against him faster, a scorching thrill spreading inside him. Breathing was hard, with his lips devouring Sky’s neck and trying to imprint the sound of his moans in the back of his mind.

He felt one hand reach for his hair and tug at the strands and the other meld over the one against his throat, thumbing at his rings. Sky met each movement of his hips but grew erratic when he seized his throat.

He squirmed beneath him, chasing something desperately, straining under his hand and pressing along with him at the same time.

“I’ve got you,” Riven whispered in between breaths and groans. “I’m here.”

His hand let up.

Sky’s voice cracked on a moan and his arms tensed around him. He pulled him close, holding him through the drop from that high place he had reached, cradling his face between his hands and leaving wet kisses on his jaw.

With the feeling of hot strips drying on his stomach and Sky keening his name on his ear, voice rough from his hand, Riven felt his bloodstream roar ablaze, blinding light flaring up behind his eyes.

He drowned in the hollow of Sky’s neck, moans mixing with sweat, and slumped against him when his elbows gave out.

Hands palmed his shoulders, tracing figures between his shoulder blades while his breathing calmed down and his heart stopped assaulting his ribs.

Opening his eyes, Riven saw the red marks in the shape of his fingers dressing the skin of Sky’s neck. A lump started to lodge inside his throat. He leaned forward until he could run the tip of his nose along a tendon, his fingertips grazing the other side of his neck up and down and across.

Sky squirmed away.

“I’m fine—” Riven cut him with his thumb pressing his lips closed and continued to focus on his task.

Sky kept still for a long moment and then Riven felt fingers combing through his hair and a head turning to kiss his temple.

He brushed his lips over every inch of red he found, soft caresses hovering over the sore muscles, before getting up to fetch the salve from a drawer and a glass of water.

“Drink slowly,” he told Sky when he flopped back down on the bed.

He watched Sky wince on the first sips, but he drank it all and seemed to swallow easier towards the end.

Sky cleaned them with a towel while he took his rings off and dipped his fingers into the salve. He spread it with smooth strokes methodically, muscle memory taking over.

Words were clogging the back of his mouth when they laid back down and cuddled under the covers, and Riven wasn’t sure why he let them out, but he felt exhausted and drained, and emotions were entwinning inside him so tight he couldn’t sort one simple thought out.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there.”

Sky faltered for a second, taken aback, then hugged him closer.

“There was no reason for you to be there, Riv,” he murmured against the top of his head.

Riven shook his head.

No. No, they took care of each other out in the field, they made sure the other had his back covered. Sky had come for him when Luke had been a blow away from taking him out.

“I knew you hadn’t taken the antidote and I—”

Sky lifted himself on one arm and kissed the grimace away from his lips. Hovering above him, he traced the side of his nose with his and touched their foreheads together.

“And you’re here,” he said, and something moved in the hue of his eyes. Darker, massive. Something that grounded awareness in Riven’s mind to feel the weight of his words.

Sky kissed him slowly, dragging his lips heavily, and it tasted different. It tasted like trust and gratitude and however sharing your life with someone tasted like. Like something deep and warm that he could no longer separate from the rest.

They leaned back on the pillows, limbs entangled.

Sky repeated it to him.

And it felt loaded with the potential of shifting the gravity of every realm.

“You’re here.”
