Andreas needs to be better, meaner, and tougher than anyone else, so no one will guess his secret: he is an Omega pretending to be a Beta so he can become a Specialist. But then one day his medication fails and his Alpha roommate's scent sends him into heat.

When Andreas was better and no longer curled up under his new roommates bedcovers he was going to kill his old roommate. Everything had been fine. Then the beta had 'felt threatened' by Andreas and he got moved to rooming with a gentle alpha instead. The type of personified the caring, protective ideal of the head of a pack. Saul was without a doubt a dreamboat, and exactly the opposite of what Omega pretending to be beta Andreas needed.

Pretending to be a beta wasn't hard. They were the most aggressive and vicious of their packs, they had to be. They were responsible for the protecting and hunting for the pack while they alpha kept peace and focused on protecting and caring for the omegas and teaching the pups and enforcing the rules.

When he'd started taking medication to hide his designation he has been warned that he needed to stay away from alphas. To much close proximity to them would push his body to overcompensate for his blocked scent and send him into heat.

Which after one night in the same room with Saul, was exactly what had happened.

Andreas had woken up late, realised what was going on and crawled from his bed into Saul's where his roommate was thankfully absent.

Andreas basked in the soothing, delicious scent. His body was too young to need to be bred and his birth control was up to date regardless. So instead of being the whining, desperate mess that would have made Andreas want to crawl into a pit and die from embarrassment, he had only the need for a comforting alpha who would one day fill him with pups.

Andreas could even picture them, blonde kids with bright eyes and big joyful smiles. He couldn't think of anyone better than Saul to help raise them. Saul would dote on them and Andreas. It would be wonderful. Perhaps they could have a winter wedding, Andreas liked those. They were cosy and thick coats were so much more fun in photographs than soon to be outdated fashions.

Andreas nuzzled the pillow happily. All he needed to do was tie Saul down to him before some other omega got the bright idea to poach such a perfect alpha.

The door to the room opened and Andreas was immediately on edge. He knew he'd locked it.

"What the...Who dumbed an omega in my bed? Sweetheart, you can't be here. You need to home with your pack where they can care for you." Saul approached the bed slowly.

"If you tell anyone I'm not a beta, I'll gut you like a fish," Andreas snarled through the pile of covers.

"Andreas? Oh, fuck, Andreas." Saul peeled back the covers and looked Andreas over as best he could.

Andreas curled up tighter.

"Sweetheart, what happened? I thought you'd already presented? Did you bloom late? I'll watch over you until your pack can be called to pick you up." Saul reached out a hand and stroked Andreas's hair.

It felt wonderful. Andreas wanted to bite him for it.

"Call me sweetheart again and you'll lose your hand." Andreas fixed him with his stoniest look, but had the horrible feeling that in his current state he just looked pathetic.

"Ok. Ok. No pet names. Got it. Have you had enough water?" Saul held up his hands in a calming gesture as if Andreas were some sort of spooked horse.

"Get over here and fuck me. Then we'll both pretend this never happened and go on training to be specialists." Andreas was really hoping Saul would get with the program.

"What? No! Andreas you're stunning, gorgeous, but you can't consent in heat. You need to let me report this before some beta gets too rambunctious during training and hurts you." Saul, the fucker, looked like the thought was causing him genuine distress.

"You didn't seem to think that was a risk when I was moved," Andreas snarled. His pride still damaged from the rest of the specialists seeing him moving rooms because he couldn't play nice.

Saul disappeared and reappeared a moment later with water and snacks. Andreas huffed. He was for it now, getting the full mother hen routine, and the worst part was that he deserved it.

"Eat and drink these for me and we can cuddle." Saul drove a hard bargain, because Andreas wanted all those things.

"But then I'm not tying you down to me!" Andreas whined. "What's the point of sharing a room with the perfect alpha if all he'll do is fed me snacks and cuddle?"

"Would you like to exchange promise bites?" Saul smiled gently. "Then in the morning we can decide what to do together."

Andreas bared his neck in answer and Saul kissed him there gently before placing a little love bite further down in a spot that would be covered by Andreas's clothes.

"My turn." Andreas surged up and latched onto Saul's neck. Heat making him careless and unrestrained as he chose a spot right beside the alpha's mating gland and sucked and nibbles his love bite into existence.

Finally Saul guided their foreheads together and just spent a moment breathing in Andreas's scent.

"You're happiness is the most important thing. How can anyone keep you safe if you're too busy struggling to get away?" Saul opened his eyes again and Andreas was hit with the need for their children to have eyes that colour.

"You'll keep my secret?" Andreas asked.

"Yes." Saul nudged Andreas over on the end and settled in beside him.

Andreas made a happy noise in the back of his throat and rested his head on Saul's chest. Saul's arms came around him as they waited for his heat to subside.

Accepting defeat and that she would just have to shower later, Bloom turned the paint chart so Sky could see it more clearly. At least he'd been appeased for an hour or so before he decided he needed to worship her baby bump again

The reason Andreas is so submissive to Rosalind is that he was a Pet in Eraklyon and she saved him from that. He hasn't managed to lose some of the behaviors associated with that, though, and it's up to the battalion to keep Rosalind from exploiting that ruthlessly.

Farah is handcuffed to the bed and those things are magical, so she can't simply use her magic and only Saul take them off.
